Storm is the latest thematic exhibition of the Prix Pictet, the world’s leading photography and sustainability award. Founded by Prix Pictet in 2008, the Prix Pictet seeks to raise public awareness of global sustainable development issues through the medium of photography. The Storm exhibition will return to the KW-ARTCENTER in Beijing from June 5 to July 18, 2026. KW-ARTCENTER previously hosted the Prix Pictet’s themed exhibition Human in 2024.

The Storm exhibition has previously toured London, Dubai, Tokyo, and Zurich. The Storm exhibition will showcase works by 12 shortlisted photographic artists of the 11th edition of the Prix Pictet. More than just a natural phenomenon, Storm serves as a powerful metaphor for the intangible yet ever-present forces shaping the contemporary world. As an exhibition theme, it lays bare the growing instability of our era—from environmental collapse, political unrest and economic imbalance to social unrest—leaving humanity perpetually on the brink of the next crisis.

This theme challenges photographers to capture the raw energy and far-reaching consequences of this turbulent age. Whether documenting the devastation and displacement wrought by climate catastrophes, or portraying the underlying tensions and rifts of social division, Storm lays bare not only destruction itself, but also the regenerative power inherent within it: the potential for transformation, renewal and hope emerging from chaos.
